‘Blue Shift‘ is a short film based on the story found in a science fiction novella named ‘Blue Shift: A Starfall Chronicle‘ released earlier this year. The story focuses on Commander Shen, a formidable elite alien law officer, who is also something of a short-sighted hot-head. When tasked with the mission of recapturing a deep space prison ship that has been hijacked by it’s own prisoners, Shen’s impulsive cowboy-like actions give multiple alien convicts the chance they need to escape to a little blue planet called Earth. Now these very dangerous extraterrestrial fugitives are running around on our world, doing God knows what to whoever they please, and no one can stop them, other than Shen, his android partner Seesix and a mysterious man in black known only as Mr. McGrath.

The film is being directed and produced by the author of the book, Chris P. O’Connell. Chris O’Connell is an animation and visual effects artist who has worked for years on numerous live action and animated Hollywood productions, including Spongebob Squarepants: Sponge Out of Water and several Marvel Cinematic Universe films, such as Thor, Captain America, and The Avengers.
