A woman who was in a controlling relationship for two years where her partner dictated everything from how much she weighed to what she was wearing, is working with Fixers to show that not all abuse is physical.

"My name's Astrid. People think that abuse is just physical but it's not. With this video I aim to show that abuse can come in many different forms such as psychological and sexual. Even though I am female, and this is my story, abuse can happen to anyone at any age. The psychological effects that this relationship had on me were long standing. It has taken me over a year to get to this point and sharing my story is part of my recovery. I want to try and help as many people in similar situations see that they are not alone and that being treated like this is not ok!"

Please help Astrid and her campaign reach as many people as possible by signing up using your social media accounts and joining us on Thursday 19th May by sharing the message that if you're going through something similar, you don't have to suffer in silence.

"Astrid" and this campaign is being supported by Fixers, the charity that gives young people a voice across the UK. For more information about Fixers and the work they do, please visit the website www.fixers.org.uk
