My name is Christopher,  I am married with 3 kids, I live in Lagos, Nigeria I studied Agric Engineer from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Nigeria.  My dream in life is to become a great farmer, producing food for my country and providing Job opportunity for the less privileged.

 

 CHRIS POULTRY is a small-scale poultry  with 6000 chickens. The farm was located on an acres of land. The farm was built 4 years ago by me and my wife. She is a Teacher before she resign and decided to join me in doing it both.  Since then we have been working together to achieve our goal on this, which we have achieve some since 2013 that it was founded.

We sell to Eatery, people buy eggs, we do De-feathering services for some, and people also come to buy a day old chicks atimes.

Find in this picture is one of our workers that was employed for him to raise money to go back to school to complete his Education, He studied Business Administration.

 

What We Need & What You Get

 

The farm need your Help to purchase the following item to help in fasten the activities of the farm and to be able to produce more eggs.

 

1. Poultry Vaccinator

2. A 6,000 Capacity Incubator

1500 USD per each

3. De feathering Machine

7-10 birds per minutes is 1200 USD

Lastly, our major target is to have a standard structure on that land, we own the land. see below is our proposed site. The Impact

EMPLOYMENT , EDUCATION & NUTRITION Through our farm, we are supporting our local community: we employ local people, help them through education, provide affordable nutrition and help teachers  earn extra income by selling our eggs.

The farm has 6,000 chickens; 4,000 are mature layers which give us about 3000 crates of eggs daily; that is our only income. The eggs are sold from USD3 to USD5 for 30 eggs per crate. We also sell to people and families with little money, which is another principle we want to keep.  Families buy as few as two at a time and at prices as low as USD1 for 4 eggs. Therefore, our farm has to run on a very small profit margin to supply such affordable eggs to the local community.

Risk & Challenges

• Poor Productivity, due to lack of all this equipment, I just mentioned, which led to the death of a lot of them last year. • Lack of standards because of not having a good equipments • Poor marketing channels. These are the major reason why we seek for help to be able to purchase modern equipment for better output, and good standard.

All we seek for is the little help to be able to purchase all this above mentioned equipment to make the work more easier for us, your contribution is more important to us and is going to be used as said, even if the goal is not reached the one receive we still go for the one we can achieve and we will still appreciate it so much.

If the fund did not reach our expectation, then we will cut or have to reduce our purchase, and go for the most important one.

Since we started, there are some ups and down, may be because I have not been into such business before, and it really causes a lot or loss for me, Until I later get what to put in place .
