David is an amazing child. Born with hemophilia A and as a baby a port a cath was placed in him to receive prophylactic factor eight. In 2014 he started to become really sick with daily 106 fevers. The doctors were unsure about what was causing it. In September of 2014 we seeked a different opinion and just in time to save his life he was diagnosed with HLH or Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis. He received chemo for twenty weeks and had to stop treatment because a ct scan showed necrotizing pulmonary nodule (too many to count). The HLH was caused by a port infection that was never treated properly and it had manifested to throw his immune system out of whack. That same bacteria had now spread to his organs (mainly his lungs but also his liver and spleen). He has now acquired a nk cell deficiency and will need a bone marrow transplant. Due to unfortunate circumstances we no longer go to the hospital who mistreated the original cause and our insurance will not pay for the expenses. We are trying to save money to go to Cincinnati Children's and get the best possible care. Please support and share!
