Over the past couple of days, articles have been published that suggest the American University administration has mishandled sexual assault cases and has not treated survivors with the respect and dignity they deserve. In addition to claims of unenforced sentences and significantly delayed hearings, survivors who have chosen to seek resolution through the university have been forced to sign confidentiality agreements, preventing them from speaking out about their own assault cases even after they have been resolved.
