If I have your liberty, let me take you to a distant land in Ladakh. A centuries old village which goes by the name of Hipti. I am pretty sure you haven't heard of it, have you? Hipti is in fact so remote that it takes a couple of days of mountain biking and trekking to reach there from the nearest motorable road.. Most of the villagers live below poverty line and their primary source of income is from the crops they grow and animals they rear. However, nestled in the picturesque Zanskar valley, this village is quickly covered by clouds of darkness come sunset. Darkness that only lifts come daybreak. The village has absolute no electric energy.
Why am I telling you this?
I am writing to you to tell you about my new campaign at Ketto. This August, as part of a global expedition, I plan to work my way up to to Hipti to bring solar electricity to this village for the very first time. However, I will need your constant backing and motivation for this expedition. This initiative comes with heavy overhead and implementation costs for solar energy is still an expensive form of generating electric power.
Hence, it would be very helpful if you could contribute to my cause. I would be grateful for any amount, as even the smallest contribution will make a tremendous difference to me! However, if for any reason you cannot contribute, please do share my efforts on social media. Thank you and I'll be grateful for any way that you can help me achieve my goal!
