Project Insights: After an exhaustive search we finally found the perfect location, 12812 Old Glenn Highway, Eagle River, AK 99577. It still needs renovation though. It will take a labor of love and lots of financial backing to give this place new life and open our doors for business. And this is the point where we need YOUR help. Brewing Company will start off employing five Alaskans. And once business picks up we will hire up to five more (for our flagship location in Eagle River). As we expand to new locations we will put more people to work; helping to boost local economies. QUAKE! has also established a partnership with Drones for Disaster Relief. Drones’ co-founders Andy Trench, Peter Haas, and Kyla Coburn are on the forefront of disaster relief and recovery with their new non-profit organization Drones for Disaster Relief (DFDR). DFDR has been featured in such publications as World News Network and PRWeb. Peter Haas was also a speaker at TED Talks. DFDR deploys high-tech drones to disaster areas. These drones can, and have (after the Nepal earthquake), surveyed the area for unseen dangers, heat signatures of possible survivors, and population variances during recovery efforts. This is where QUAKE! comes in. A portion of all beer and cider sales (after this Kickstarter campaign) will go towards funding research and development and the immediate release of disaster funds during emergencies. *None of the funds raised during this Kickstarter campaign will go towards Drones for Disaster Relief. We, at QUAKE!, will work WITH our competitors...not against them. The beers, ciders, and wines we serve will be all local and all craft. Meet the Team: Danyelle D. Kimp (Founder): The U.S. Army moved me and my family to Anchorage about two years ago. And during that time I was stationed at Fort Richardson, Alaska. While stationed there my love of beer turned into a serious brewing hobby. My love for Alaska began to take off as well. I soon had a choice to make...get sent to a new duty station soon or retire from the Army and stay in Alaska. After consulting with my family I chose the latter; deciding to take root in the 49th State. About a month after my retirement I began to turn my hobby into a fulltime gig. And now I'm getting ready to open my own brewpub. Jeremiah D. Christian (Lead Brewer): Bio coming soon. Jeremy Gauster (Lead Chef): I grew up in Saint Paul, Minnesota. After high school I moved to Minneapolis to pursue architecture. However, I fell in love with the culinary arts during my sophomore year and soon-after decided to follow my passion. After arriving to Alaska in 1998 I was hired as the opening Sous Chef for Orso Restaurant; during which I had the pleasure and privilege of working for many years. And after being the executive chef for places like The Captain Cook Hotel and Airline Support Incorporated, I am proud to bring my years of experience to QUAKE! Brewing Company as its Lead Chef. About the name "QUAKE!": The name QUAKE! was chosen to honor the resilience, fortitude, and perseverance of those Alaskans who, not only survived, but thrived after the Good Friday earthquake of 1964.
