My name is Germaine Barnard, 36 years old and from sunny Durban, South Africa. I have always been passionate about travelling. In 2004 I started doing a lot of travelling around South Africa mainly using backpackers as I was a student and this type of accommodation was cheapest. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing new places and meeting people from different cultures and far away places. Some of the backpackers that I stayed in were great and some not so. This ignited my passion to start my own accommodation business, borrowing ideas of backpacking, making traveling cheaper especially for young people but to make it more comfortable and aesthetically pleasing. My vision is to provide travelers with accommodation that reminds them of home. I purchased a bachelor flat in 2015 in a holiday letting block on Durban’s beach front. The flat has been operating for a year now and after some hiccups it finally picked up with bookings from mostly Europeans. I need to grow the business as many of the guest require more than one apartment and this has resulted in lost revenue. My goal is to eventually own five apartments in the block thereby servicing group tourist. However, apartments in this block are sold cash only as it is share block, and one has just become available at R95000 in a good condition to start rentals immediately. I have cash for the transfer fees, furnishings and one month levies. I just need your help to raise the cash to purchase the apartment. Please help me purchase this apartment and grow my business!
