Tech Freedom Conference New York University - April 2nd, 2016  We are welcoming students from across the New York metro area to participate in a one-of-a-kind event dedicated to exploring trends in how technology impacts free exchange and commerce globally and in New York. Our aim is to discover the crossroads between technology, philosophy, and economics by inviting industry-expert speakers, leading new discussions, and creating a fun social event. Jared Meyer Jared Meyer is a fellow at the Manhattan Institute. His research interests include microeconomic theory and the economic effects of government regulations. He is coauthor, with Diana Furchtgott-Roth, of Disinherited: How Washington Is Betraying America’s Young (2015). Meyer’s research has been featured in numerous publications, including the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Yahoo! Finance, National Review, RealClearPolitics, Los Angeles Times, and New York Post. He is interviewed frequently on radio and TV, including on BBC World Service, Fox News, and NPR.

Fereshteh Forough

Fereshteh Forough is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Code to Inspire. Fereshteh was born as an Afghan refugee in Iran. One year after the fall of Taliban, She moved to Herat, Afghanistan with her family where she received her bachelor’s degree in computer science from Herat University and later a Master’s degree from Technical University of Berlin in Germany. She taught as a professor in the Computer Science Faculty of Herat University for three years. Fereshteh was a 2013 TED Talks speaker and a 2015 Clinton Global Initiative. Her passion is to empower young women from Afghanistan by improving their technical literacy. Her goal with Code To Inspire is to spread the message of peace and empower women everywhere. She is an advocate of using Bitcoin and the first to formally promote its use in Afghanistan. Group Travel Scholarships are available, click here to apply!
