So as we designed the hotel, we took the time to stretch ourselves and push all the limits to make every inch of the hotel the most extraordinary it could possibly be. After months of planning, we’ve stretched our imaginations to come up with a hotel that surpasses our wildest dreams. We have crafted the hotel’s plan with such detail and fantastic design that every room, down to every inch of the walls will satisfy the dreams of science fiction fans everywhere.

The most memorable figures throughout contemporary culture like Walt Disney are not remembered by the things that they wished they had done -- rather, they are remembered by the things that they did; the moments of glory looking upon their accomplishments, glancing at history and being just crazy enough to do it.

 It’s a legacy that the greatest people all of all time have. To have the burning desire, the absolutely fundamental need to contribute something truly mesmerizing to society -- boundless in inception and boundaryless in scope. One such visionary futurist is Luis Ramallo -- legend has it that Luis has not only had a close encounter with the third kind but is actually from the future himself

The UFO Hotel has forever been destined to be the first piece of Baker’s alien colony and the first earthly wonder of the universe.

Luis Ramallo Story

The American Dream has given hope to millions -- jobless, broke, struggling to feed families all over the world. The faintest glimmer of promise echoes from the Statue of Liberty's torch -- taunting all that dare take that fateful leap; crossing onto the land of the Stars & Stripes with pennies in their pocket and a head full of dreams. On one such fateful occasion, a young Luis Ramallo, an electrical contractor traversing the globe to find work to take care of his family -- took one such leap after hearing from a friend that California held promise of work, and so much so that he would be able to bring his whole family here and start a life.

After having brought his family over as promised, Luis discovered Las Vegas, a literal mecca for electrical contracting. Risking everything, he got himself a license to contract in Nevada. The day that Luis spent his last $100 on a newspaper ad served as a turning point in what some would call a miracle.

The bids started to come in, 8 calls a day, the work flowing in. Luis had made it and in less than 3 months he'd grossed nearly $20k and was on track to finally have the life he always dreamed of with his family until fate knocked on Luis' door one more time.

Luis' friend recommended to him that he start selling beef jerky -- an as such, Luis gave it a try. They just so happened to be near Area 51 known for its alien presence.

"He believes in it before seeing it," says Martin Luis' son, who, like two of his sisters, works for his father. "That's the difference between visionaries and spectators. That's him. He's the visionary."

Luis started to see success selling beef jerky and one day a sheriff asked him for his identification and he handed the sheriff an alien green card. "Ah an alien in Area 51 huh?," said the sheriff. That sparked the idea for the name, Alien Fresh Jerky.

So for the past 10+ years, Luis has been selling Alien Fresh Jerky to hundreds of thousands of people who come by his store in Baker, CA. On average, 750,000 people come by his store every year. All the while, Luis has continued working on his dream to create the most unique UFO Hotel in the world. He dreams of this UFO Hotel being the ultimate family destination for both young and old who enjoy science fiction and who want to experience and touch the future.

Luis Ramillo is building The UFO Hotel and he needs your help to raise the funds required to advance the project to the next phase. Even though Luis has already purchased the land, obtained site approval and spent years planning every detail, it's not that easy to get a loan for a project of this type. It takes something more to prove there is a audience for this type of unique attraction and experience. We need you to show the community and prospective investors that we have a dedicated following who have shown their support by giving this project a significant start on funding. Without a clear message, this extraordinary hotel will not be built.

The building, designed in the form of a large alien craft, will be visible from I-15 for the benefit of millions people who pass Baker annually on their way to and from Las Vegas.

For some time, I was considering raising funding for the hotel through investors. But I realized that this project isn’t something that should be controlled by reclusive financiers—this is a project that everyone in the community should be immensely proud of. It’s the type of project that takes a village, with all their support and nurturing, to completely materialize.

And the Kickstarter “village” isn’t any old village. Honestly, I’ve never found a community as passionate and welcoming to innovation as the Kickstarter community is. It’s amazing how wonderful and supportive you are of everyone’s dreams, and I can’t think of another group I’d rather share the UFO Hotel’s success with.

Lastly, I chose Kickstarter over every other crowdfunding website because I want to be honest and transparent with all my supporters. The way Kickstarter is set up, I can’t collect the funds unless I reach my goal. This is exactly what I wanted, because I don’t want to take your money if the project is not possible. I will only take your funds if I am 100% certain I can put them to the ultimate use, and create something you’ll boast about for the rest of your life.

Luis Ramallo - shares more of his story

When I first moved to the U.S., I began working at an electrical company, but I needed more money to keep my family and my kids afloat. Refusing to give up, I opened up a stand on the side of the road that sold jerky, olives, and pistachios. Establishing my business at first was a huge struggle. I fought lots of prejudice and difficulty with the system, especially because there was a language barrier, I didn’t understand the rules, and I had nobody to help me because all my family and friends were in Argentina.

But I stayed strong and pushed through the issues, and I am so grateful I did. The stand soon became outrageously popular; I saw huge potential and I knew that I could go somewhere big with this business. One day, a sheriff came and asked me for my work permit and proof of citizenship. As I pulled out my green card, I noticed the word “Alien” on it, and the gears in my brain began turning.

Everything slowly clicked. I realized that I was in such close proximity to Area 51 that I simply had to use the word “alien” in my name so Alien Fresh Jerky was born. I opened up a shop that carried Alien Fresh Jerky with a huge alien outside and other alien-themed merchandise inside. I began seeing hundreds of loyal, happy customers come in every day, and my business was growing. My customers absolutely loved the jerky and other merchandise I sold, but I could tell they didn’t want the story to end there either. I knew I had struck gold with the “alien” part and I was itching to see how far I could go with it.

So to continue the story and channel the widespread extraterrestrial obsession, the UFO Hotel was born. The UFO Hotel has consumed the past few years of my life and it has been such an amazing experience to watch it go from a thought, to a sketch, to a logistical project, and now it has potential to become a reality.

I have always been completely honest and open with my business; it’s just how I was raised. So I’m not going to take any money that I don’t need from you. I can promise you that I’m going to put in every last ounce of talent and energy I have. I promise to find the most economical, sensible ways to solve issues and use resources, because I value your money and respect. I promise to create a product that you will be proud to have contributed to. This is why I have already sought out the best and most reliable architecture companies and figured out many of the logistical details before requesting money; because above all, this is a hotel for you, so I want you to be happy and proud of it.

The plans are now ready to be drawn and submitted to the city so this amazing, one of a kind in the world UFO Hotel can be built. I have secured the space, the builders, the sketches, and most importantly, I have the passion. Every component is ready, but the project has slowed until I can raise adequate funding to continue the process and make it happen.

Is transportation covered in the Rewards?

Unless specifically stated in a Reward description, unfortunately, no. We want to keep the funding towards the development of the hotel and attractions as much as possible. If you select a Reward and can arrange your own transportation, we’d love to see you!

When can I expect to receive my Rewards?

Each Reward offered contains information about when you can expect to receive the item promised. In some cases you will receive a certificate to confirm your Reward so that the specific item you will be provided will be honored as described and is fully affirmed on your document.

What happens if you don't reach your goal?

Kickstarter is an all-or-nothing venture so if we are unable to reach our goal amount of $175,000 we'll receive none of the pledges, and none of our backer's credit cards will be charged. Risks and challenges

I have always believed that everything happens for a reason. Although I went through a lot of harsh periods when I first started with the Alien Fresh Jerky business, today, I am so grateful that all these difficulties happened to me then. Now I know the Baker area and the rules inside and out, so I will be able to minimize the problems we face while building the UFO Hotel. Because I am now a native and I have earned the trust of the locals, I can make project into something remarkable with a community’s help. Because of my experience, persistent attitude, and entrepreneurial mind and spirit, I am completely confident in my ability to make this project a success.
